The times right now are scary right? You see your friends cancelling their weddings, travel plans, get-a-ways, etc. meaning the hotel business is at a standstill. Event Coordinators are getting cancellations and airports are nearly empty. Travel is down almost 70% compared to what it was last year at this same time. You are not going out to eat which means the bartender and servers do not have work. The hair salon and nail salon that you visit every month has a CLOSED sign on its door. Those local shops, eateries, retailers, etc. all closed or have laid off more than 75% of its staff. It is scary yes, but it doesn't have to be.
Our agency came together over the last few days to compile our top 7 jobs that you can start from home with a budget of less than $100usd. In order to do this, you have to get creative, you have to put in the work and you need to make the right investments. Whether that is for flyers, templates, etc. Invest where you need too and put in the hours. You could turn these next 30 days of quarantine into the start of something pretty amazing. Something you never saw coming during these gloomy times. Now, lets get started and get you work.
Now is the time to INVEST IN YOU!
✔️ INFLUENCER – CONTENT CREATOR – BLOGGER - PHOTOGRAPHER
With the downtime we are seeing right now, I would focus on working from home and becoming a full time influencer. With the amount of businesses that need to thrive online right now, there is no better time to put your focus in the online world and becoming an influencer. Everyone from brands, restaurants, health & beauty doctors, salons, retailers, car dealers – you name it. They need online presence more than ever right now.
Just how can you do that? Well first, begin to take amazing photos. Do not over edit and be authentic to yourself. The photos are what tells the story to both your followers but also to the potential client (who you are trying to collaborate with). The first thing they see before what you have written to them is your photos. So if they do not like what they see – the chances of them saying yes to a collaboration are very slim. I love flat lays. A lot of bloggers have a hard time taking good content with them in the photo. So I would suggest going on YouTube and looking up flat lays. It is a great way to get product in a photo without you standing next to it awkwardly. Once you get experience, then start learning poses. You can do this by simply looking in the mirror and finding ways to stand, kneel, sit, etc. so your page does not look the same over and over.
Next, begin to reach out to companies to advertise for them. In the beginning you must be willing to take photos without getting paid to make yourself a portfolio. Ask for FREE clothing or product and in return you will submit 2-3 images to them, plus post the photos on instagram. Remember, ask them to post your photos as well so you can get additional likes on your photos. Be sure to tag appropriate pages as well to get more likes (like @streetstyle @ootd @globalinfluenceragency @britoliviapr and other large fashion pages) Once you get some good images, you can then make yourself a media kit and ask for paid collaborations.
If you need a template to send to businesses and brands to begin to receive collaborations, click here. Our agency will actually assign an advisor to you, learn about you and create a custom template for you that you can simply copy and paste and send to businesses.
Next, collect email addresses to contact brands. You can do this by either ‘scraping’ (which means you go through accounts and find bios that have their email in their bio and begin an excel spreadsheet) or by reviewing their websites and clicking the contact us page - or better yet... Purchase them from us. We have these lists all ready for you. These lists include designers like Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Dior, Chanel & more. Instead of spending hours researching these designers and getting the names of their marketing manager, we have done the work for you. These are NOT generic email addresses. But our list includes direct email addresses and names to the marketing managers for these top brands. You will love it!

✔️ DELIVERY SERVICES - GROCERIES & ERRANDS FOR THE ELDERLY OR THOSE THAT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE DELIVERY APPS
We have all heard of Uber Eats, InstaCart, Door Dash, Postmates... the list goes on and on. But have you ever asked your grandma if she uses these apps? Well, the answer is probably not. You do not even have to go as old as a grandparent - parents or anyone over the age of 45 rarely use these apps. They don't know how to use them, download them, order, etc. it literally scares them.
So what can you do? Print up a simple flyer or business card and make your way to a neighborhood or community that you know older people live. Whether it is a neighbor that you know or an entire community that you are aware of. Go door to door and introduce yourself, hand out your flyer and get your name out there.
Where can you drop your flyer off? *Find community boards if you can!
STARBUCKS (they always have a community board)
COMMUNITIES OR NEIGHBORHOODS (Go straight to the source)
What can you deliver?
DOG FOOD & SUPPLIES
FOOD DELIVERY FROM RESTAURANTS
Name a few stores on your flyer that they could get delivery from you! So if you have a local grocery store, walmart, CVS or Walgreens, Drug Store, etc. so they get the idea that anything they need - you can bring them!
How can you charge?
Charge per the hour + fuel cost
Per the Hour
You can decide this and maybe make a note on the flyer. Something like *Delivery charges start as low as $7.99! Include your phone number (add if they can call or text you), your email address and what areas you are willing to offer services.

✔️ VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
Many of the traditional tasks of an office or personal assistant can be done remotely. Virtual assistants are expected to be organized and dependable.
What is a virtual assistant? It is an assistant to say a law firm, accountant, marketing firm, etc. that works remotely. They pay you typically as a 1099 which saves them alot of money, along with you are a an independent employer. If you are interested in working as a VA (Virtual Assistant) get your resume looking fresh and begin to email employers that may need this.

So say something like "I can write blogs for you and as you can see my blog post get 1,000 views or more on my current blog". Another example is "I can find potential clients for you and give you at least 100 new potential clients per week in excel, along with writing you a template that you can send to them to gain additional revenue streams".

✔️ CHILD CARE PROVIDER – DAY CARE
With illnesses, rising childcare costs and other factors to consider, more and more parents are looking for custom solutions for childcare. You may even be looking for a way to stay home with your own children, while still earning revenue. One way to meet this need is to offer in-home child care with additional benefits that might not be available at a large facility such as individualized attention and learning programs. Before starting this type of business, however, it is crucial that you check local laws and regulations.
How can you get the word out there? Go to businesses that you know are open and have a large group of employees. This could be factories, big department stores, the wal-mart and target type stores, etc. and ask if you could put a flyer up in their breakroom. If not, try putting flyers out or finding a way to email the human resources director and let them know the services you are willing to offer to their employees.
✔️ DOG WALKING – PET SITTING – DOGGY DAYCARE
Love pets? Consider putting that love to work with a dog walking or pet sitting service. While only 3% of households annually hire a pet sitter, this number is on the rise. If you think this is a hobby job, you might want to think again. The national average for pet sitters is $16 per visit for a walk or an average of $40 per night to stay overnight. So if someone is going away for a week, you could earn $280 per week on just 1 dog. Now, turn that into sitting 4-5 dogs at once and you have a $1,000 a week business. Add in some additional dog walking or homemade pet treat services and that number could grow exponentially. Look at apps like Rover, put flyers up in your local pet stores or simply give our business cards to those that you see walking their pet. I would focus on overnight stays as many people do not pay for walks.... but highlight that you do both and see how it goes!
✔️ HOMEMADE GOURMET FOODS OR SPECIAL NEED DIETS
There are a lot of laws restricting what food products you can and can’t sell out of your home, but as long as you’re following them, there’s always a great market for delicious homemade treats. If you’re at home in the kitchen, this may be the perfect business idea for you. With the growth of different diets, you have a great opportunity to carve out a niche for yourself in a specialized area such as low carb, gluten-free, vegetarian, paleo, etc. You can start out small and test your recipes with local food stores. Find ways to sell them either online, on instagram or ask your local grocery store if you can set up a booth on a weekend.
